The Spell Checker in Word can't do everything. A great document can be ruined by poor spelling or grammar, or mistakes in punctuation or hyphenation. It is also important to ensure that your document presents its arguments in a clear and consistent style, which is particularly relevant when a number of authors have contributed to a document. Less obvious mistakes, such as tautologies and dangling participles can render the meaning of an argument open to confusing misinterpretation.
fpProof is available in two flavours:
- Galley Proof - this is a review of the proposal document for errors in style, punctutation, grammar, typesetting, and layout. We also include a review of all document links, references, table layouts and formatting, graphics positioning and appearance, pagination, table of contents, and indexes.
- Proposal Proof - this is a complete review of the proposal from an evaluator's perspective. We examine all aspects of the document - its relevance to the call, overall structure, quality of scientific objectives, suitability of the consortium partners, relevance and impact of the results, the proposed management of the research, gender issues, ethical isses, and the management of any anticipated intellectual property arising from the research.
The output of these processes is a fully commented online document showing where improvements could be made and suggesting improvements. If required, the output can also be supplied in 'tracked-changes' format to allow ease of incorporating any recommendations made.
We employ experienced proofreaders and framework-experienced project managers for all document evaluation services.
